We perform repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) for a wide range of biomedical equipment with a particular specialization in respiratory and infusion equipment. Our expertise in infusion and respiratory equipment extends to a good understanding of the clinical aspects of the equipment which helps us deliver a service that fully meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations. We perform detail calibrations such as tidal volumes in-house wherever necessary to ensure that the repairs and PM’s fully meet the performance standards established by the manufacturers of the equipment.
Our engineers and technicians are factory trained and/or certified on a wide range of manufacturers and types of biomedical equipment. This makes it easier for our customers to use as a one-stop shop for all their biomedical equipment service and repair needs. We can typically turnaround a repair or service within 3 to 5 days in the service center. This is a testament to the flexibility and experience level of our biomedical technicians who in many cases have 10 to 30 years of experience each.
We maintain spare parts for all routine PM’s and a range of common repairs. We only use OEM approved spare parts for all repairs and service. We provide estimates for all repairs and wait for customer approval prior to commencing any repair work. If repairs are not economical, we advise customers to consider other options such as purchasing a low cost used equipment or renting equipment. We also have an active program to identify equipment that come back for repeated repairs within 12 month periods or “lemons” using the state of the art IT solutions coupled with the customer portal that we provide.
All repair and services we provide are backed up by a warranty that covers the quality of the repair or service. Since we actively acquire excess equipment from our customers we have a very stringent refurbishment process where we deliver equipment back to being clinically ready in every way. Our customers have an opportunity to acquire this refurbished biomedical equipment at a considerable discount to buying new equipment.
In certain home situations, our end-customers sometimes encounter both smoke damaged and insect infestation with respiratory equipment. We have developed special processes to clean such units properly and return them to a clinically ready condition.
We perform re-certification work on all biomedical equipment that has been returned after patient use to ensure they are ready for use for the next patient.

We offer both new and used biomedical equipment for both short term and long term rentals. Our paperwork requirements are very streamlined and express the conditions of the rental in very simple non-legal language. While we do perform credit checks on all applicants for rental programs we try our best to work with our customers especially if you have a history with us. We are often able to provide very competitive rental programs since we specialize in used equipment more than new equipment.
The conditions associated with our biomedical equipment rental programs are far less onerous than with large rental companies. Our approach is to offer a complete range of services to our customers and the acquisition of sophisticated biomedical equipment through rental programs is a much more cost effective approach than outright acquisition. Our rental programs also allow our customers to rent them for short periods when the demand is very high and to relinquish them when the demand is not there anymore.
We also offer biomedical equipment rental programs where the customer may build up equity over a period of time that will allow ultimate ownership of the equipment. This program called a Rent – To – Own program, is particularly useful for medical institutions that have a limited capital budget since the rental is deemed to be in the operational budget. RTO programs do require a commitment to rent the equipment for a short minimum period and we have developed programs that minimizes the risk of the higher rental costs through RTO programs when compared to straight rentals. Whenever necessary, RTO programs can be converted to rental programs with lower rental costs.
All repairs and service on rental equipment is undertaken by Quality Medical and is included in the rental cost. Since we are a fully certified repair center, we perform all servicing and repairs in-house and are able to return all rental equipment very expeditiously to our customers. Whenever necessary we make a replacement equipment available during the service or repair process.
Promoting the concept of a one-stop shop, we actively acquire surplus equipment from our customers. We are typically able to provide top value for these equipment since we can undertake the full refurbishment work in-house in our facility in Largo, FL. We have an extensive network of national and international buyers for this equipment and have a very comprehensive capability in all aspects of equipment valuation, repair, service and refurbishment that provides us with a competitive position for the acquisition of biomedical equipment of all kinds.
In addition, surplus equipment from our customers is provided for sale in our e-commerce platform that attracts qualified buyers from around the world. The combination of the network of known qualified buyers and the reach of the e-commerce platform allows us to dispose of large numbers of surplus biomedical equipment excellent prices. We often work with medical institutions as the exclusive disposal agent for all their surplus equipment. We provide a valuation service and offer a fuss free purchase price that transfers ownership of all the disposal risk to us. While we usually refurbish and sell this biomedical equipment, we also often use this equipment for spare parts to extend the useful life of equipment that is no longer supported by the OEM. Our ability to realize value therefore extends to defective equipment that we use for spares as well as functional equipment that we refurbish and sell as good units.
We also have a program where we work with medical institutions and others to make donations of useful biomedical equipment both nationally and internationally. The positive press that this generates is shared between QM and the donor company.
As a last resort, we (Quality Medical) offer our customers the option to recycle surplus equipment that cannot be economically recovered for a second life. Our recycling program meets all state and federal requirements relative to recycling electronic goods including batteries.
Nursing Homes, LTAC’s, Hospitals, surgical centers and other medical institutions are required by law to test and certify that their premises are safe from the standpoint of patients and employees not being subject to an electrical shock due to a poorly grounded electrical appliance. In addition, they need to be compliant with state laws that govern the compliance of all critical biomedical equipment to performance specifications established by the manufacturers of the equipment.
Quality Medical perform both types of inspections for a range of institutions that require them. We work with institutions by adding them to our extensive database with an automated notification program to alert them of upcoming inspections needed to be fully compliant. Once an inspection is scheduled, QM technicians use state of the art equipment that first generates a barcode label for all equipment to be tested for electrical safety. Subsequent inspections are thus accelerated since the equipment is easily identified by scanning the label.
Using a fully automated electrical safety inspection tool, detail data on every piece of equipment is generated and captured digitally by the automated tool. These parameters govern all aspects of the state requirements and our accredited technicians ensure that equipment that comply to these requirements are properly grounded and do not pose any risk of electrocution to patients and employees in the institution.
Data from the automated inspection and data logger tool is then downloaded to our proprietary analytical tool where it is reviewed and published in a format that is necessary to satisfy the state regulators. Quality medical stores these records in a locker in the cloud for each customer. These records can be accessed at any time by our customers. Customers who prefer a paper copy can also print a copy for safe keeping. Increasingly though, most customers prefer a digital copy to ease their storage and filing requirements.
We also perform performance verification of all critical biomedical equipment to ensure they are performing to published manufacturers specifications. We document the results of these tests, calibrations and inspections and provide state-mandated records of these performance verification tests. These records are also stored in the cloud for easy retrieval and a printed copy is available if our customers need that.

Quality Medical assembles and distributes several different types of battery packs for biomedical equipment that are functionally equivalent to OEM battery packs but at a substantial discount to.
Quality Medical can retrofit existing battery packs with new cells and return them back to OEM standards. We also sell Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Sealed Lead Acid, and Lithium Ion batteries packaged as drop in replacements for OEM supplied batteries. This service is being offered to extend the useful life of older equipment which are no longer supported by OEM’s.
We offer volume based discounts on large orders. All batteries come with a 12 month warranty from the date of shipment. Some of the brands we provide are, Power Sonic, Yuasa, Enersys, Panasonic, Duracell, and many other manufacturers.
All our batteries are assembled at our service center in Largo, FL and checked by trained technicians. All of our batteries are expertly soldered or spot-welded using Nickel foil. When needed, thermistors are included to prevent over-charging of the cells. Batteries are typically heat shrunk and the appropriate connector is soldered to matching the biomedical equipment it is intended for. Quality Medical stocks custom battery packs for obsolete equipment that is not supported by the manufacturer. Where we do not stock the battery pack cases, we are able to use the battery packs that exist in the obsolete biomedical equipment to assemble the battery pack to the correct specification.
Quality Medical takes the view that responsible recycling is a key part of any battery replacement strategy. We work with customers and take responsibility for responsibly disposing of unwanted battery cells. We insist that spent batteries be removed from the work place as quickly as possible because old primary cells may leak and be hazardous to health and the environment. Lead acid cells are particularly difficult to handle. We coordinate the pick-up of such batteries and dispose them on behalf of our customers.

When needed Quality Medical is able to design and manufacture using 3rd parties, various accessories such as power cords, chargers and other electrical accessories to extend the life of older equipment that are no longer supported by the manufacturers.
